Fiduciary Accounting Part 3: Special Accounting Elections & Distributions 26-27
-
Online
2.00 Credits
Member Price: $99
Trusts are old entities and go as far back as the Crusades when we were an agrarian society, and the only asset of any value was the land and what was produced on the land. Therefore, dividing the benefit in a trust between income and principal was logical and worked efficiently for a long time. However, times have significantly changed, and trusts are often invested in assets that don't involve land, and these assets also have great value. Often, the value lies in their growth rather than their income. New rules have developed in the fiduciary accounting area that provide elections that often result in favorable benefits to the trust and the beneficiaries. This course will explore those elections. Be sure to register for all four parts: Fiduciary Accounting Part 1: Fiduciary Duty Basics & Authority Fiduciary Accounting Part 2: Tools, Rules and Relationship to Tax Fiduciary Accounting Part 3: Special Accounting Elections & Distributions from Entities Fiduciary Accounting Part 4: The New Frontier (Total Return Trusts)Delivery Method: Individual webcastCPE Credit: 2Program Level: Intermediate

Remote Leadership: The Six Drivers of Productivity on Remote Teams
-
Online
1.00 Credits
Member Price: $39
Today’s remote teams are busier than ever — but being busy doesn’t necessarily mean they’re making meaningful progress. Leaders are navigating constant interruptions, competing priorities, staffing challenges, client demands and an endless stream of meetings, emails and notifications. The result is that many teams work harder than ever while still feeling like they’re falling behind. The challenge isn’t usually a lack of effort. In fact, the opposite is often true. As this workshop explores, productivity on remote teams is rarely an individual performance problem — it is a leadership design challenge. High-performing remote teams don’t happen by accident. They are built by intentionally creating the conditions that allow people to focus on the work that matters most. In this session, we’ll explore the Six Key Drivers of Productivity on Remote Teams, a practical leadership framework that helps managers create greater clarity, stronger execution, healthier collaboration and more sustainable performance. We’ll examine how strategic clarity, aligned goals, visible workflows, focused execution, trust, psychological safety, manageable workloads, protected focus time and sustainable work design work together to create an environment where productivity becomes the natural outcome — not the constant struggle. Whether you lead a small accounting team or a large distributed organization, you’ll leave with practical strategies you can immediately apply to help your team spend less time reacting and more time moving the business forward.
Corporate Storytelling in Financial Reporting
Online
1.00 Credits
Member Price: $55
Developments in the Management Commentary and MD&A Narrative reporting is entering a new era-one that moves beyond compliance checklists to focus on cohesive, decision-useful communication. This seminar examines the evolution of corporate narrative reporting through the revised 2025 IFRS Practice Statement 1: Management Commentary and the U.S. GAAP-based MD&A under SEC Regulation S-K, with key comparisons to help practitioners understand how each framework supports investor-focused disclosure. Using real-world examples and excerpts from the actual annual report of an IFRS reporting company, this seminar highlights how the revised Management Commentary guidance aims to improve the quality, relevance, and connectivity of narrative insights. Participants will explore its emphasis on strategy, risks, sustainability factors (ESG), key performance indicators (KPIs), and the integration of financial and non-financial information. The session also analyzes the modernization efforts in U.S. MD&A, including principles-based guidance, reduction of boilerplate disclosures, and expanded expectations for entity-specific analysis and trend-based insights. Through a comparative approach, participants learn how both frameworks are converging around common principles: enhanced connectivity, balanced presentation, entity-specific content, and alignment of strategy, performance, risk, and value creation. This practical seminar provides accounting, finance, and business professionals with the knowledge needed for better understanding the management commentary and MD&A. Asset Misappropriation You Have It – They Want It
Online
2.00 Credits
Member Price: $89
Have you ever thought about stealing? If the answer is NO, then you need to find another profession because you will never be a successful fraud examiner/investigator or a financial auditor. To find fraud, you must first determine, given the opportunity through weak internal controls, how a person would steal. You have to say to yourself, given the opportunity that exists, how many ways could I take advantage of it? In other words, you must be able to think how you could steal and not be caught. So yes, to find fraud, you must first think about stealing. For a fraudster to be successful, they must make you think fraud is a legitimate transaction. They must make you think it is something that it is not. There are so many places where fraud can be hidden. It is up to you to evaluate where the risks of fraud are in an organization, then design effective investigative procedures to determine if someone took advantage of the opportunity. If they did not, how else may they have taken advantage of the opportunity? One must remember that one weakness in internal control may create several ways to take advantage of it and you must examine every such one. During this session, the many ways fraud can be hidden in asset misappropriations will be discussed. Remember, the number of ways is only limited by one’s imagination.
